A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
The City of Grapevine faced aging HMI/SCADA, PLCs and radio communications that were limiting monitoring and risking reliability—especially with potential FCC narrowbanding affecting existing infrastructure. To modernize its water and wastewater systems, the City of Grapevine engaged Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions and selected ICONICS GENESIS32, AlarmWorX32 Multimedia, ReportWorX, WebHMI and an OPC UA Server to replace and upgrade its control and monitoring platform.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions deployed the ICONICS HMI/SCADA suite across the city’s potable water treatment plant, booster and raw‑water pump stations, lake aeration, four elevated storage tanks, two water entry vaults and 31 sewer lift stations on two servers with 15 Web clients. With support from PCD Sales and an internal multi‑discipline team, the project brought 2,271 tags online in under 15 months, delivered improved monitoring, control, alarms, reports and timely data, proved resilient when the legacy system failed, and is now being expanded to additional facilities.
