A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
The City of Cumberland faced the challenge of modernizing its Water Filtration and Wastewater Treatment operations—especially realtime tracking and reporting of Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) events, remote pump stations and tank/reservoir levels—after relying on manual, labor-intensive processes. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions was engaged to provide its ICONICS software stack (GENESIS32, GraphWorX, AlarmWorX, TrendWorX, ReportWorX and WebHMI) integrated with PLCs and a central SQL server to give operators visualization, alarms and remote access.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS32 workstations and a server running ReportWorX to automatically log data, generate Filter Plant Daily Reports (including half-hour tank/reservoir level logs, pump runtime totals and chart plots), and provide alarm annunciation and WebHMI remote access. The result was automated real-time CSO reporting immediately after events, faster operator response to pump failures, improved watershed reporting, measurable daily/weekly/month‑to‑date runtime and flow summaries, and overall productivity gains and cost reductions for the City of Cumberland.
