Badger Midstream, a Houston-based natural gas and NGL midstream company operating the Grey Badger cryogenic processing plant in Panhandle, TX, needed a replacement HMI/SCADA to control plant metering, compression, tank/pump/valve control and 105 PID loops and to integrate with DeltaV DCS, Allen-Bradley controllers, Emerson OPC Server and multiple EFM RTUs. The existing combination of competitor products was out of support and costly to upgrade and maintain, so Badger sought a more cost-effective, maintainable solution.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions deployed ICONICS GENESIS64 with WebHMI and MobileHMI (implemented with integrator SOAP Engineering), providing full plant control and metering of over 8,000 physical I/O points. The installation cost was roughly half the price of upgrading the previous system, delivered streamlined displays and faceplates for clearer operator control, enabled remote monitoring, mobile displays and notifications, and positioned Badger to expand with executive dashboards for profitability, downtime and related metrics.
