A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
Arvin-Edison Water Storage District, a large conjunctive-use agency serving 132,000 acres near Bakersfield, needed reliable, near‑real‑time monitoring and remote control of water levels, pumps and canal gates across 56 sites (46 pumping plants and 10 level‑indicator sites). To replace slower legacy updates and enable emergency remote motor control, the District turned to Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions, deploying the ICONICS GENESIS32 HMI/SCADA suite (including GraphWorX, TrendWorX and AlarmWorX).
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS32 integrated with existing PLCs and field instruments (Lundahl level indicators, Delta pressure transmitters, AB soft‑starts, GE power monitors), upgrading multiple sites and tying the system into the District’s Windows 2000 network. The solution delivered near‑real‑time data (replacing the prior 8–15 second update delay), accurate visual displays and remote control across all 56 locations, speeding implementation and improving emergency response; the District is now planning further ICONICS upgrades and expanded remote gate control.
