Aristotle University of Thessaloniki cuts energy consumption by 35.6% with Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions

Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the largest university in Greece, faced high energy consumption and costs because its buildings were widely dispersed, many were older, and energy specifications were outdated or missing. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions provided GENESIS64 building automation and HMI/SCADA software to help the university better monitor and manage its heating network.

Working with systems integrator Algosystems, Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions helped Aristotle University of Thessaloniki continuously track boiler operation, temperatures, levels, and building temperatures, then optimize heating system performance. The result was a 35.6 percent reduction in annual energy consumption in the first year, saving more than 280,000 euros, along with continued year-over-year energy savings and reduced boiler run times.
