Ameren Callaway Plant - Customer Case Study

Ameren Callaway Plant in Fulton, MO — part of Ameren, Missouri’s largest electric utility — faced the need to replace a legacy HMI/SCADA solution that was no longer supported and to provide broader, remote access to inline chemistry analyzer readings, pager alarm notifications, and a single web-page view while eliminating dependence on the plant mainframe. Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions was selected to deploy ICONICS GENESIS32, WebHMI and AlarmWorX to meet those requirements.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS32, WebHMI and AlarmWorX to deliver web-based HMI/SCADA visualization, real-time automation and enterprise alarm paging. The solution removed the chemistry database from the mainframe, made live analyzer data and trend graphs accessible to all plant personnel instead of just a few PCs, enabled paging alerts for alarm conditions, and allowed technicians to maintain the system remotely—achieving Ameren Callaway Plant’s goals for accessibility, mainframe elimination and seamless integration with existing Honeywell and Microsoft systems.
