A Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions Case Study
Aksa Natural Gas Distribution, a Kazancı Holding subsidiary based in Istanbul that serves millions of customers across 27 provinces, needed a scalable automation and alarm-management system for its hundreds of Regulating and Metering Stations (RMS A/B/C). The company required central HMI/SCADA data collection from OPC servers and PLCs, fast notification and intervention for thousands of tags, and the ability to write monthly gas-quality values to 1,400 Electronic Volume Correctors (EVCs). Aksa selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions and its ICONICS software suite—GENESIS64 HMI/SCADA with GraphWorX64, Hyper Historian, AlarmWorX64, MobileHMI and KPIWorX—to meet these requirements.
Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS64 and associated tools to provide GIS-based visualization, mobile access, alarm management and rapid historian capabilities, integrating with Fatek and Motorola Moscad PLCs, Oracle and SQL Server databases, and KEPServerEX. The deployment now monitors over 120,000 active tags, organizes assets into operator-friendly hierarchies, and reduced configuration time per RMS from about two hours to 10 seconds, enabling quick web deployment and instant visibility of changes. As a result, Aksa gained faster engineering cycles, improved remote monitoring and alarm responsiveness, and measurable operational time and cost savings while planning further expansion of ICONICS capabilities.
