AFV Beltrame S.p.A., a leading European rolled-steel producer based in Vicenza, Italy, faced the challenge of better visualizing and controlling processes across multiple steel plants and rolling mills—tasks such as fusion furnace pollution control, cooling, stocking and alloy insertion—while working with existing Allen Bradley PLCs and Microsoft SQL Server. To meet requirements for fast, easy development, scalability and handling several thousand tags and I/O points, AFV Beltrame selected Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ ICONICS GENESIS32 HMI/SCADA suite.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions implemented GENESIS32 across roughly 30 installations, delivering a web-enabled HMI/SCADA visualization that integrated with the company’s Microsoft environment and PLCs. The rollout reduced development time, enabled faster adaptation to process and environmental changes, supported expansion to multiple sites (Vicenza, S. Didero, Marghera, S. Giovanni Valdarno, S. Giorgio Nogaro and Villadossola), and saved the company thousands of euros in costs while lowering total cost of ownership.
