Rundle-Spence, a full-service plumbing, heating, and industrial supply distributor and fabrication shop, needed a better way to get information out of its Eclipse operational system. Running reports was time consuming and cumbersome, and emailing spreadsheets or distributing paper reports did not work for its distributed sales force. After a year with a competing subscription product that lacked canned reports and was difficult to use, the company evaluated MITS Distributor Analytics.
MITS provided pre-configured reports, an easier interface, and reliable performance on a Linux or Unix server alongside Eclipse in the Universe database. Rundle-Spence said the product delivered on its promises, with managers, purchasing, and outside sales using it to access reports quickly, identify slow-moving and dead stock, and review GMROI, customer, and writer scorecards. The company also noted that reports were formatted correctly without extra tweaking, and that it planned to roll MITS out to additional areas.
