A MITS Case Study
Crescent Parts & Equipment, a wholesale HVACR distributor founded in 1944 and headquartered in St. Louis, was using an outdated reporting and business intelligence setup that made dashboards hard to maintain and reports difficult for executives to trust. Acting CIO Andy Weith said the team needed a simpler tool because their users were not trained in SQL and often had reports with repetitive or missing data.
Crescent Parts & Equipment selected MITS Distributor Analytics in July 2012 after reviewing six products. MITS rolled out with the outside sales staff, executives, and branch managers, including custom scorecards and commission calculations, and restored confidence in the data used for business decisions; Andy said the numbers in MITS are correct unless there is a data entry error in the operational systems. Because MITS is web-based, the company also avoided the cost of installing old software on outside sales machines, and it began exploring MITS Report for additional time and cost savings in ad hoc reporting.
