Sutter Health, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit integrated healthcare systems, tasked its Office of General Counsel with improving the legal invoice process and reporting. The OGC needed an e-billing and reporting platform that could support hundreds of users and firms, convert legacy data, build bi-directional integrations with claims and AP systems, interface with more than ten systems, eliminate manual and redundant workflows, and provide training for legal, financial staff and outside counsel.

After an RFP and on-premise demonstrations, Sutter selected Acuity ELM Essentials and executed a comprehensive implementation that included data migration and a trilateral integration linking claims, Acuity and AP systems. The rollout automated manual invoice reviews with multi-stage compliance audits and introduced a triaged approval layer, reducing duplicate data entry and manual hours, ensuring consistent data across systems, and delivered virtual and on-site training to embed best practices and secure adoption.
