Brussels Airport, one of Europe’s busiest airports handling nearly 22 million passengers in 2014, needed a web-based and mobile health, safety and environment (HSE) management solution to standardize safety audits, inspections, incident reporting, action tracking and reporting across operations. A key requirement was GIS integration so incidents, audits and inspections could be location-tagged and cluster-analyzed to identify hotspots and feed into the airport’s existing ESRI ArcGIS infrastructure.

Brussels Airport implemented Mitratech’s CMO (Compliance Manager) for its mobile capabilities, configurability and ESRI ArcGIS integration. The system centralized audit and incident management, workflows, action tracking and reporting, reduced paperwork and reporting time, enabled mobile SMS audits and automated monthly safety reports, improved visibility with reminders and escalations, and delivered hotspot cluster analysis — providing increased efficiency, lower costs and better control over safety risks.
