Automating spreadsheet control and attestation processes at Rabobank delivered improved regulatory compliance

Mitratech worked with Rabobank to address a sprawling trading‑floor estate of spreadsheets and End User Computing (EUC) files that lacked centralized controls and auditability. Regulators were pressing the bank to eliminate spreadsheet errors and demonstrate enforceable policies, but an under‑utilized Enterprise Spreadsheet Manager (ESM) and manual, inconsistent compliance processes made discovery, inventory and attestation difficult and resource‑heavy.

Rabobank deployed Mitratech’s ESM together with Inventory Management System (IMS) to automate discovery, inventory and lifecycle control of EUCs, and to manage attestation workflows (e.g., Volcker Rule questionnaires). The integration delivered complete visibility, automated risk ratings, clear ownership, streamlined controls and real‑time reporting, improving regulatory and audit compliance while reducing IT and user burden.
