CMS Germany, one of Germany’s largest law firms, engaged Mitratech HotDocs to reduce the amount of lawyer time spent drafting routine documents. The firm needed a scalable document automation solution that could integrate with existing line-of-business systems, handle German-language complexities (articles, endings and legal terms), and let non-IT staff create document-assembly interviews.

Mitratech HotDocs delivered a phased rollout—starting with a 2012 pilot and expanding to an enterprise-wide HotDocs Hub deployment in 2016—providing HotDocs Server, a customised HotDocs Workspace integrated with CMS Germany’s systems, and German-language logic. HotDocs’ consulting team trained key users (train-the-trainer) and added Microsoft Lync support for real-time help; the result is hundreds of HotDocs user licences and a front end that has significantly reduced the time required to produce agreements across Banking & Finance, Labour & Employment, Real Estate and Corporate practices.
