Timber Technologies, a wall panel designer and framing contractor, faced the challenge of collaborating effectively with a separate truss manufacturer, Precision Truss & Lumber, to create an error-free, code-compliant wood frame for a large project. Their main obstacle was avoiding costly misalignments and errors between the different building components they each produced. To solve this, they worked with vendor MiTek and utilized its SAPPHIRE software for 3D BIM modeling.

The solution implemented by MiTek involved both companies collaborating on a single SAPPHIRE model. This allowed floor and roof trusses to be digitally overlaid on the wall panel design, eliminating clashes before construction began. The result was a completely error-free build with a new standard of precision. The measurable impact was a dramatic reduction in onsite framing time, which was cut in half compared to traditional stick-framing methods.
