Conestoga Bank, a full‑service community bank serving the Philadelphia area, set out to attract younger homeowners and investors and make banking easier across channels. As part of that strategy it aimed to simplify account opening and provide convenient services in‑branch, online and on mobile devices, and in spring 2011 became one of the first regional banks to introduce Mobile Deposit.
Conestoga deployed Mitek’s Mobile Deposit (via TransCentra) and drove adoption with advanced KYC, tailored deposit limits, aggressive marketing and customer education at account opening. In the first 13 months the bank saw a 10% increase in new accounts, 20% of customers using Mobile Deposit, about $1.5 million in monthly mobile deposits (7% of total consumer and small‑business deposits), and strong usage across all age groups.
