North Texas Pressure Vessels, Inc., a single-site oil & gas manufacturer in Mineral Wells, TX, was operating without a reliable inventory system—Sage 50 lacked needed MRP functionality. Inventory quantities and costs were inaccurate, item numbers didn’t exist, purchasing relied on spreadsheets, PO processing was costly and slow, and the company couldn’t cost or price jobs accurately.

NTPV implemented MISys Manufacturing with guidance from a SureStart coach, loading 19,000 items, training staff in a test database, and customizing reports before going live. Within 14 months inventory fell from $800K to $400K, freeing critical cash; PO processing and supply-chain visibility improved, allowing the purchasing agent to negotiate better terms; production meetings became more effective; sales can quote jobs more accurately using up-to-date BOMs and material costs; and gross profit margin increased despite lower industry revenues.
