iButtonLink is a small East Troy, WI manufacturer of networked sensor solutions that designs and builds products in-house for customers on five continents. As the company grew, QuickBooks and other basic software couldn’t handle increasing raw material and finished-goods inventory, and mixing financials with inventory tracking created workflow and control problems—especially given iButtonLink’s mostly custom builds and base products with several variations.

iButtonLink implemented MISys Manufacturing integrated with QuickBooks, choosing a modular approach to start small and add functionality as needed; MISys also provided front-end file transfer assistance. The new setup separated accounting from inventory, improved control over materials and finished goods, and gave the company scalable manufacturing controls that fit its customized production model.
