Holmberg Company, Inc., a Minneapolis-based supplier of converted paper products with over 50 years in the graphics industry, faced a costly and cumbersome ERP (Sage X3) that made reporting and data analysis difficult. Management wanted a more affordable, easy-to-implement manufacturing control system under $50K that would improve access to manufacturing data and reduce ongoing maintenance costs.

They implemented QuickBooks Enterprise paired with MISys Manufacturing, a low-cost solution that was quick to deploy (purchased in late February 2010, live March 19, with shipping resumed March 22) and simplified data access by consolidating product information in one place. The project paid back in about 18 months, delivered better reporting and manufacturing visibility, and avoided custom code by using out-of-the-box modules.
