American Friction Technologies (AFT), based in Garfield Heights, OH, is a leading manufacturer of high-performance brake pads and ceramic clutch buttons for the transportation and power sports industries and is ISO 9001:2008 certified. Rapid growth, new products and customers exposed weaknesses in their legacy systems (Peachtree/Sage 50, spreadsheets, MS Access and manual tracking), and long raw-material lead times (up to 12 weeks) led to frequent stock-outs and poor inventory planning.

Implementing Sage 50 Quantum with MISys Manufacturing provided an integrated MRP that analyzes multi-month requirements, ties sales orders to accounting, and calculates labor and material needs. After a three-month self-led implementation with MISys SureStart (go-live July 1, 2009), stock-outs dropped to nearly zero, on-time shipments reached 100%, and supply chain and vendor management significantly improved.
