Metal Tronics Consistent AWS Performance & Security

Metal Tronics, a Massachusetts-based precision sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining company, needed a more reliable and secure IT infrastructure to support its fast-paced manufacturing operations. After moving its MIE Trak ERP software and related systems to AWS, the company experienced inconsistent performance, printing problems, and general access issues that threatened production deadlines. Mission, an AWS cloud services partner, was brought in to help stabilize the environment and improve cloud performance.

Mission re-architected Metal Tronics’ AWS environment by setting up secure VPN access, closing publicly exposed router ports, reconfiguring Microsoft Active Directory, migrating servers to Windows 2016, validating backups, and right-sizing compute, memory, and storage. The result was more consistent application performance, stronger security, and a scalable cloud foundation that supports legacy production software without costly upgrades. More than five years later, Metal Tronics reports no security breaches, uninterrupted migration work, and better cost efficiency because it only pays for the AWS resources it needs.
