Societe Generale, a major French financial services group, faced the challenge of migrating from a monolithic architecture to a cloud-native platform to accelerate its agility in a competitive market. They needed a robust, secure container platform suited for a diverse range of applications, from legacy software to future innovations, and one that could support a hybrid cloud model. They turned to vendor Mirantis and its product, Mirantis Kubernetes Engine, to build this new infrastructure.

Mirantis implemented its Kubernetes Engine to provide a flexible, scalable foundation for Societe Generale's transformation. The solution supported both Kubernetes and Docker Swarm, allowing different teams to migrate at their own pace. As a result, the customer now runs over 1,000 applications with 33,000 containers on 9,000 cores. The partnership with Mirantis also enabled optimizations that save up to 30% on compute resources, contributing to the company's energy efficiency and carbon neutrality goals.
