Preview of the Saudi Telecom Company Case Study

Saudi Telecom Company lowers cloud costs by 25% with Mirantis

The Saudi Telecom Company (stc), a major telecommunications provider in the Middle East, faced the challenge of launching an innovative public cloud to maintain its market leadership and fend off new competitors. To avoid vendor lock-in and meet the rising demand for ICT services, stc sought an open cloud platform and selected OpenStack. They partnered with Mirantis for its deep expertise in building and scaling OpenStack deployments.

With Mirantis, stc deployed the Mirantis Cloud Platform (MCP) to power its Bluvalt public cloud, creating an IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS marketplace. The solution resulted in capital and operating expenses that were at least 25% lower than proprietary alternatives. The scalable OpenStack-based cloud has successfully met high regional demand and allowed stc to extend its offerings to internal IT and network functions virtualization (NFV).
