Netskope Expands Secure Access Service Edge with Mirantis OpenStack Private Cloud

Netskope, a market leader in Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), needed a cost-efficient, flexible private cloud to host its global Netskope NewEdge platform and deliver endpoint- and location-agnostic zero-trust access across SaaS, cloud, and on-premises services. The primary challenge was to rapidly deploy, scale and lifecycle-manage regional points-of-presence (POPs) at global scale while meeting strict performance, security and compliance requirements.

Netskope partnered with Mirantis to deploy Mirantis OpenStack (later Mirantis OpenStack for Kubernetes) and CI/CD-driven automation, replacing Ceph with Nova encrypted LVM for a 100% storage performance gain and integrating lifecycle management and managed OpsCare Plus support. The result: deployment time for a new IaaS cluster fell from months to five days (a 3600% improvement in POP provisioning), hundreds of nodes are in production with plans to scale to thousands, lifecycle management was simplified, features reach customers faster, and the platform is positioned for stringent compliance.
