The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, a non-profit organization under Cornell University, needed to deliver highly available and scalable citizen science applications to a global user base. Their challenge was to meet these high performance expectations while leveraging their existing on-premises university infrastructure economically and without creating an operations bottleneck for developers.
