A MIP Fund Accounting Case Study
The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Angelo, a large faith-based organization serving more than 85,000 parishioners across West and Central Texas, was struggling to manage its growing financial complexity in QuickBooks. The Diocese needed a more robust fund accounting system to better track funds, reporting, billing, and employee insurance costs, and turned to MIP Fund Accounting and its MIP Cloud product.
MIP Fund Accounting implemented MIP Cloud, helping the Diocese move from one fund to 10, reduce general ledger accounts from 695 to 164, and cut its vendor list from more than 5,000 to just over 1,000. The new system also exposed previously hidden medical insurance costs of about $150,000 per month and gave the Diocese clearer, more transparent reporting for financial council meetings.
