A MIP Fund Accounting Case Study
Central Kansas Mental Health Center, led by Director of Finance Sheila Srna, faced a restrictive accounting system that made adding accounts, producing departmental income statements, and avoiding unwanted consolidations difficult. In 2018 the center chose MIP Fund Accounting to replace the old system and address those limitations.
MIP Fund Accounting’s flexible chart of accounts and strong implementation support let CKMHC define infinite segments, track unlimited accounts, import EMR payments monthly, set allocations and internal controls, and streamline month‑ and year‑end closes. The result was faster, more accurate reporting, significant time savings for staff, and a finance system that has scaled with the center’s growth since 2018 while supporting its care for roughly 4,500 patients annually.
