Case Study: Midtown Alliance achieves data-driven support for safer protected bike lanes with Miovision Technologies

Measuring the Explosion of E-scooters in Atlanta

Midtown Alliance, a nonprofit coalition of business and community leaders in Atlanta, needed accurate data to evaluate how a new pop-up protected bike lane on 10th Street was being used by e-scooters, cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles. Working with Miovision Technologies and its Scout product, they sought reliable bi-directional counts and classification of micromobility traffic to support the City of Atlanta’s safety efforts.

Miovision Technologies deployed Scout to collect video-based counts along the protected lane, with data processed by Miovision and delivered in DataLink reports. The resulting dataset gave the City and Midtown Alliance clear evidence of how Atlantans used the temporary infrastructure, helping build the case for permanent protected bike lanes and more informed street-safety decisions.
