ResMed, a global leader in medical devices for sleep-disordered breathing and respiratory disorders, wanted to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency for its best-selling masks and machines. To support its statistical process control efforts, ResMed used Minitab Statistical Software.

Minitab helped ResMed build a real-time monitoring solution using macros, ODBC queries, and control charts to analyze production data every 30 minutes and publish results to SharePoint. With Minitab, ResMed identified a developing tool cavity issue before it produced nonconforming parts, improved product quality, maintained processes in statistical control, and moved away from a paper-based system, creating a more efficient and proactive quality process.
