Unifi Manufacturing, Inc., a leading producer of textured polyester and nylon yarns, needed a more efficient way to optimize its complex false-twist texturing process. With highly correlated variables and expensive, time-consuming experimentation, the company turned to Minitab and its Statistical Software to improve daily data analysis and support better process decisions.

Using Minitab’s statistical tools, including partial least squares (PLS) regression, Unifi compared multiple modeling approaches and found PLS to be the fastest, simplest, and most effective at handling multicollinearity. The solution reduced or eliminated experimental trials, helped technicians identify outliers sooner, and enabled faster process adjustments and better yarn quality while lowering costs and saving time.
