Medtronic prepares 85,000 employees across 155 countries with Minitab

Medtronic, a global healthcare solutions company, faced a challenge in its Lean Six Sigma training programs due to trainees having wildly divergent levels of statistical knowledge. This made delivering effective, unified instruction for their Black Belt candidates very difficult. To solve this, Medtronic turned to vendor Minitab and its e-learning course, Quality Trainer.

The solution implemented by Minitab ensured all trainees achieved a common base of statistical knowledge before classroom sessions. Quality Trainer’s animated lessons and real-world scenarios made complex methods accessible, relieving student stress and allowing instructors to focus on application. The results were so positive that Medtronic expanded use of the tool company-wide, enhancing the overall effectiveness of their quality improvement training.
