Its challenge was enabling people at any level of statistical expertise to analyze and understand process data, and it relied on Minitab Statistical Software to do so.

Minitab addressed this with an easy-to-use interface, including the Assistant feature to guide novices step by step, advanced nonlinear regression, split-plot DOE tools, and one-click export to Word and PowerPoint for sharing results. Mercer reported that Minitab 16’s nonlinear regression matched NIST-certified values, often exactly or within one digit in the last decimal place, and that the software made complex analyses faster, easier, and more effective to communicate.
