Buckman, a global chemical company serving the pulp and paper, leather, and water treatment industries, wanted to close a widening gap between sales growth and flat operating profit. To help more employees use data to improve both internal work and customer outcomes, Buckman turned to Minitab and its statistical software, including the Minitab Assistant and Quality Trainer.

Minitab helped Buckman build a field statistics program that taught sales associates practical tools such as control charts, capability analysis, hypothesis testing, and correlation, mapped to the sales process rather than a full DMAIC belt curriculum. Since launching the training, Buckman has trained more than 500 field sales associates worldwide, improved confidence and conversion rates, helped win and protect business, and enabled measurable savings such as a plant process adjustment worth over $40,000 per year.
