Parsec Labs handles billions of files and objects with MinIO AIStor

Parsec Labs, a company specializing in data mobility and protection, faced the common challenge of helping customers extract value from storage solutions being replaced, particularly for use in disaster recovery sites. This was often impossible due to compatibility issues across different storage protocols. To solve this, they turned to MinIO's AIStor to help build their Unified Data Mobility and Protection Appliance.

The solution from MinIO enabled Parsec Labs to create an appliance that replicates and migrates data across any storage systems and protocols, including file, block, and object. This eliminated vendor lock-in and provided a straightforward, cost-effective tool for data replication, migration, consolidation, and cloud repatriation. The results include handling billions of files without performance degradation and enabling new use cases like creating centralized data lakes for AI/ML initiatives. Parsec Labs also uses MinIO internally to reliably manage telemetry data from its global customer deployments.
