UWCSEA Fulfills Its Learning Principles With the Help of MindMeister and G Suite

UWCSEA (United World College in South East Asia) is a K–12 international school of more than 5,000 students and 500 teachers that prioritizes skills like critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. Seeking an online tool to help students plan, collaborate and reflect on learning within its G Suite environment, UWCSEA selected MindMeister as a collaborative mind‑mapping solution that supports the school’s pedagogical philosophy.

MindMeister was added to UWCSEA’s G Suite account in 2011 with single sign‑on, Drive integration and a Google Docs add‑on (added in 2014); today over 2,000 students and faculty use it for brainstorming, project planning and reflective learning (e.g., embedding maps in learning journals and class Sites). The MindMeister solution made planning more intuitive and editable, enabled playback of map history for reflection, and helped shift activities to be more student‑centric and authentic — a tangible change echoed by staff at UWCSEA.
