Dream Harvest, an indie game developer (UK & Switzerland, <10 employees), was struggling with a traditional Word-based Game Design Document (GDD) that was linear, hard to digest, and time-consuming to update—especially for a distributed team. To address this, Dream Harvest adopted MindMeister’s online mind-mapping tools to transform the GDD into a diagrammatic, collaborative format.

Using MindMeister, Dream Harvest created a large, shareable mind map GDD with live collaboration, external linking, image and file embedding, and version control. The MindMeister-based solution made information easier to find and update, improved team engagement and iteration of ideas, and brought the whole team onto the same page—producing a more usable, colorful GDD and smoother development workflow.
