Case Study: Redmap achieves team alignment and project clarity with MindManager

Redmap - Customer Case Study

Redmap is the Range Extension Database and Mapping Project led by Associate Professor Gretta Pecl at the University of Tasmania, enlisting thousands of recreational fishers, SCUBA divers, boaters and naturalists to collect data on shifting marine species. Their core challenge was aligning a diverse, interdisciplinary and international group around shared project goals and terminology to avoid misunderstandings and conflicting outcomes.

MindManager’s mind‑mapping software — using tools like the Brainstorm template and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) workflows — was used to place key objectives at the center, capture and order ideas, and make individual contributions visible. By using MindManager, Redmap improved team buy‑in, clarified roles and project plans, and reduced alignment issues during implementation, addressing the industry finding (from Corel and MindManager research) that roughly half of project failures stem from lack of alignment.
