Ostfriesische Beschäftigungs- und Wohnstätten GmbH (OBW) is a large social institution (about 1,200 employees) that supports people with and without disabilities across housing, work and education. Facing complex coordination, frequent absences and onboarding/offboarding challenges, OBW needed a way to capture and share job-related knowledge. They selected MindManager’s mind-mapping software for its visualization capabilities and SharePoint synchronization to make knowledge transparent and accessible.

Using MindManager, OBW created 27 knowledge maps developed by tandem teams (knowledge‑giver and knowledge‑taker), synced to the intranet so roughly 400 employees can access content while a limited number hold editing licenses. The solution sped up handovers (one notable role transfer completed in one week), simplified new‑hire training, improved substitution during illness, increased transparency and employee motivation, and enabled automatic SharePoint integration for ongoing knowledge retention.
