Equipment and Plant Maintenance: Using MindManager at Messfeld GmbH

Messfeld, an Austrian maintenance consultancy led by Jutta Isopp, faced the challenge of gaining a clear, reliable overview of complex machines and plants so it could measure, document and analyse interdependent components for condition monitoring and maintenance planning. To address this, Messfeld adopted MindManager for information mapping and to structure detailed analyses such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Using MindManager, Messfeld creates organisational "maps" of machines down to individual parts, applies filters and calculation functions to build a bespoke risk matrix (e.g., Low ≤ €5,000, Medium ≤ €10,000, High ≤ €20,000) and derives monitoring tasks and costed consequences for maintenance. The MindManager-based process has improved clarity and decision‑making, become a core day-to-day tool at Messfeld, and led many customers to adopt map-based maintenance plans—enabling faster, more transparent analyses and targeted interventions.
