Escape From Detention - Customer Case Study

Escape From Detention, a student-created mobile game born from the Howard County Library System’s Hi‑Tech STEM lab, needed a partner to both teach game development and build the app. Mindgrub was engaged to deliver hands-on workshops and development support, using the Corona game engine to translate student ideas into a playable mobile title.

Mindgrub ran a six‑week series of workshops covering game theory, design, and production, then implemented the students’ vision in Corona and delivered iOS and Android builds. The program exposed more than 1,200 students to game development, and Escape From Detention is now available for download on both platforms—demonstrating measurable reach and a successful learning-to-product pipeline led by Mindgrub.
