AICPA, the American Institute of CPAs, wanted to grow membership in its Tax Section and improve on the slow ROI of traditional direct mail campaigns. It partnered with MindFire, using MindFireInc’s cross-media marketing technology, to explore a more targeted, multi-touch approach that could reach members through personalized direct mail and digital channels.
MindFire’s solution combined direct mail, email, QR codes, and personalized URLs (pURLs) to drive recipients to a landing page with free tax checklists, a netbook giveaway, and membership messaging. The campaign reached 9,915 landing page visitors from 40,904 prospects, generated more than 4,400 checklist downloads, led to 484 Tax Section conversions, and delivered a 260% ROI with an 87% retention rate for Tax Section members.
