Takamichi Hair, a salon in New York City, faced the challenge of maintaining its high-touch customer service philosophy while managing the constant interruptions of phone calls and the manual process of client follow-ups. To address this, the salon partnered with vendor Mindbody and implemented its AI-powered product, Messenger[ai], to help automate communication and bookings.
The solution from Mindbody, Messenger[ai], acted as an artificial intelligence receptionist that deflected phone calls, allowed customers to book appointments via text at any time, and automated post-appointment check-ins. This resulted in a significant measurable impact: almost three times as many customers booked online compared to by phone, and out of 928 messages handled by the AI, only six required human intervention, saving the staff considerable time.
