How Pressed Roots Is Using Online Booking to Reopen

Pressed Roots is a Dallas salon founded in 2020 by Piersten Gaines to serve women with naturally textured hair after she identified a gap in the market through pop-up testing. After a successful soft launch in March 2020, the business was forced to close by COVID-19, leaving Gaines to both keep potential clients engaged remotely and plan a safe reopening that eliminated walk-ins and required strict appointment turnover for cleaning and social distancing.

To maintain engagement, the team used social media and an email series called "Hot off the Press" to answer client questions and stay connected. For reopening, Pressed Roots implemented Booker’s online booking to require pre-booked appointments, streamline scheduling, reduce back-and-forth with clients, and ensure the salon could manage capacity and enhanced sanitation so staff and customers stayed safe.
