Barbers of the Lowcountry is a two-location barbershop in Bluffton, SC, led by owner Brent Nelson and known for early tech adoption. As the business grew and faced a COVID shutdown, Nelson needed better tools to manage customer communications and rebook clients efficiently when reopening.

He implemented Mindbody’s Marketing Suite and Messenger[ai] receptionist to automate emails to missed appointments and route customers to an AI phone line for rebooking. Between May and July 2020 the Marketing Suite generated $16K and rescued 54 clients; 68% of appointments were booked through Booker and Bowtie at reopening, and Bowtie earned $2,300 in that period.
