Wisper ISP connects a community near St. Louis, MO using Mimosa Backhaul

Wisper ISP, a wireless internet and VoIP provider serving more than 8,000 customers in the St. Louis and Southern Illinois area, needed to expand bandwidth for a community site near St. Louis without much additional budget. Its existing 3.5-mile link was limited in throughput, and growing traffic was pushing the network to its limits. Wisper ISP turned to Mimosa Networks and its B5 backhaul solution to address the challenge.

Mimosa Networks implemented the B5 on the 5 GHz band with GPS/GNSS synchronization and a 90-degree sector antenna, using its web GUI for quick setup. The result was a major capacity boost, delivering 330 Mbps over the same 3.5-mile link and enabling faster, smoother service for 500+ customers. Wisper ISP reported a smooth installation and plans to use Mimosa Networks B5 for additional spectrum-limited sites to further increase network capacity.
