Ultimate Broadband Triumphs Over Streaming Video with High-Speed, Reliable Backhaul

Ultimate Broadband, a broadband ISP in Christchurch, New Zealand, needed to increase backhaul capacity to meet growing demand and improve service for rural and hard-to-reach customers. The company was looking to replace legacy 5 GHz backhaul equipment and chose Mimosa Networks products, including the B5 and B5c, to deliver higher-capacity long-range wireless links.

With Mimosa Networks, Ultimate Broadband boosted bandwidth from 40 Mbps to over 155 Mbps in the same channel width, with immediate performance gains and easier deployment. The upgrade also supported ongoing expansion across more than 50 receiver sites, helping Ultimate Broadband target faster customer speeds of 25 Mbps and eventually 50 Mbps across the network.
