Shelby Broadband Uses Mimosa Backhaul Radios to Maximize Throughput and Decrease Latency

Shelby Broadband, a leading ISP serving the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, needed to relieve congestion on its four backhaul links in Shelbyville as peak-hour traffic pushed three links to maximum capacity and raised latency. Shelby chose Mimosa Networks backhaul radios with GPS synchronization to upgrade its point-to-point 5 GHz links.

Mimosa Networks implemented the backhaul upgrade and helped Shelby collocate the links and carefully select frequencies to avoid interference. The result was a major performance improvement: peak-hour latency dropped from 100 ms to about 6 ms, with noticeably lower jitter and more stable service across the network.
