Mimosa Backhaul Boosts Olympic Capacity at TNB Telecom

TNB Telecom, a leading broadband provider in Brazil, faced a sudden surge in demand around the Rio Olympics that strained network capacity and created connectivity bottlenecks. To quickly deliver reliable dedicated access for fans, teams, and businesses, TNB Telecom turned to Mimosa Networks and its backhaul radios, including the MCs connected radio and B5-90, with help from partner Click Mobile.

Mimosa Networks helped TNB Telecom rapidly expand bandwidth in high-traffic areas such as Copacabana Beach, the Port of Rio, and downtown Rio, enabling up to 550 Mbps down and 450 Mbps up on some links and even a 100 Mbps full-duplex connection between two downtown buildings. The deployment solved infrastructure limitations, improved citywide connectivity during the Games, and delivered the capacity TNB Telecom needed with very short lead times.
