Lothian Broadband and Mimosa Unite to Offer Super-Fast Broadband

Lothian Broadband set out to bring super-fast broadband to hard-to-reach farms, rural businesses, and homes across East Lothian, Scotland, where demand was growing for reliable connectivity to support IoT-driven farming operations and everyday internet use. The company partnered with Mimosa Networks, using Mimosa’s B5 and B5c fixed wireless technology as the core of its fiber-based wireless network.

With Mimosa Networks, Lothian Broadband deployed a gigabit hybrid fiber-wireless architecture across 80+ mast sites and achieved speeds above 200 Mbps. The solution improved network resilience, enabled easier and faster installation, and gave subscribers better access to bandwidth-heavy services like video streaming and working from home, helping transform connectivity in rural communities.
