Getaria Offers Enhanced Services to Inhabitants

The City of Getaria needed to replace an outdated WiMAX network that was limiting connectivity and preventing the town from delivering better services to residents. Working with Mimosa Networks and its B5 and B5-Lite fixed wireless backhaul solution, the city aimed to create a faster, more reliable network for municipal use, public internet access, and future smart-city sensor services.

Mimosa Networks implemented ten B5 backhaul radios across links to nearby neighborhoods and towns, upgrading the city’s wireless infrastructure in less than two weeks. The result was a major performance boost, with the Getaria-Orio trunk speed rising to over 600 Mbps from 286 Mbps, enabling the City of Getaria to support advanced services with strong reliability and easier installation than expected.
